Ta Taine Hmwe

Formerly a final-year medical student at the University of Medicine 1, Yangon, Mr. Ta Taine Hmwe is now pursuing an online Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of the People. He currently works at the Salween Institute for Public Policy, where he plays a pivotal role in shaping current politics through programs like the Community Empowerment Program, Federalism Leadership Program, and Feminist Federalist Program. Additionally, he is a co-founder and program director of A NEW BURMA, actively advocating for the rights of survivors in conflict-affected areas. He has executed impactful projects such as "Indivisible," "When We See the Planes," and "Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop," and is a fervent volunteer in the women's rights and feminist movements. He believes that the shrinking civic spaces are detrimentally impacting pro-democracy movements in Myanmar and emphasizes the urgent need for action to create and preserve these spaces.
Eaindray Bo Bo
Eaindray Bo Bo is a Burmese student, trained in both medical and social sciences. Currently studying social sciences at Chiang Mai University, Bo is also a former medical student from the University of Medicine (1) Yangon and an alumnus of Institute of Human Rights and Democratic Governance (Spring University). Viewing healthcare through this interdisciplinary lens, Bo has worked for several public health projects as a medical assistant, data collector, or content writer. After the coup, Bo has served in a variety of organizations that respond to Burma’s crisis by advocating for human rights or providing education to youths affected by the crisis. Through these projects, Bo has witnessed the complications caused by gender discriminatory ideas in conflict-affected or impoverished communities. Thus, Bo aims to find solutions that promote gender equity in healthcare and reduce gender-based violence during both war and peace.
Naw Gay Gay
Miss. Naw Gay Gay, graduated from Karenni Leadership Collage, which is in Thai-Myanmar border refugee camp. As a refugee woman who has lived through the challenges of displacement for many years, she has dedicated her life to education, empowerment, and community involvement. Currently, she is pursuing Bachelor of the Institute of Diplomacy and International Studies at Rangsit University in Thailand, she is passionate about using education as a tool for social change. As a teacher and student, she inspires young people by sharing personal experiences and lessons learned from resilience and perseverance. Through these experiences, she encourages youth to embrace their potential, regardless of their circumstances. Outside the classroom, she is actively involved in community work, organizing events and initiatives that support marginalized groups and promote cultural understanding in Thai-Myanmar refugee camp. Believing in the power of education, unity and empathy, she strives to create a positive impact, helping others overcome adversity and build a better future.
Hein Lin Htun
Hein Lin Htun is an energetic and persevering undergraduate student at Parami University, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE). As a mentor in his university’s Mentor-Mentee Program, he supports peers in managing academic workload, work-life balance, and stress, with his prior knowledge of Enneagram and Lay Counselling. Passionate about education and civic engagement, he has been a volunteer teacher for the street children at Yay Chan Sin (YCS) since 2022. In his first year, he co-led two grant-based projects; the first focused on enhancing English proficiency, and the second focused on fostering a love for reading among children. Currently, he is implementing a donorsupported storytelling initiative with his like-minded individuals, while serving as the main content translator at Study Diary. Such continuous community involvement stems from his strong values of responsibility and accountability as a citizen.
May Thazin Kyaw
Ms. May Thazin Kyaw is a third-year student at President University, Indonesia, majoring in Education with a scholarship award from Germany. She is passionate about empowering teachers and has been working at the Teacher Education Academy (TEA) since December 2022. Her significant contributions can be seen in the Professional Learning Community (PLC) project, where she serves as an event coordinator and has successfully led the initiative.Moreover, she is a student leader and was selected as the Vice Chairperson of the Social Science and Education Faculty Association (PUFA SSE) in recognition of her academic performance and organizational skills. She is deeply committed to improving education in rural areas and has led various educational initiatives, including a reading club and a mobile library. Since 2022, she has also contributed as an English Language Instructor in remote learning programs at Impact Institute, supporting students in rural areas. She firmly believes that "education drives social change, and teachers are the agents of transformation."
Sinn Shwe Yee Thant

Sinn Shwe Yee Thant is a third-year Bachelor of Humanities and Sustainability student at Chiang Mai University. Sinn is currently interning with Rise Foundation Asia (RFA), a humanitarian organization focused on combating exploitation and human trafficking across Asia. She has actively represented Myanmar in international programs, including the NUS TF-LEaRN 2024 program at the National University of Singapore and the EYAA program by the ASEAN Foundation. She is committed to addressing regional gender and migration issues and has actively participated in related projects and initiatives.
Hsu Yadanar Thein
Ms. Hsu completed a full-time diploma in social science at Phaung Daw Oo International University (PIU) in Mandalay, Myanmar, in 2023. In addition to her academic excellence, she devoted herself to working on community work. Her service includes conducting civic education training, debate training, and literacy and numeracy workshops in orphanages and monastic education networks. Previously, she represented Myanmar youths at the JENESYS ASEANJapan Student Conference—2023 in Japan. Furthermore, in August 2024, with youth volunteers from ASEAN, she actively implemented the environmental education project in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. In the meantime, she is doing communication studies in Thailand and continues to empower youth through online platforms. Guided by her motto, ‘I serve to lead,’ her journey from "Classrooms to the World Stage" motivates marginalized youth to dream, achieve, and give generously to their communities.
Myo Htet

I graduated from the University of Community Health in Magway, Myanmar, driven by a strong passion for empowering and developing public health. As a Survey Team Leader for the National Vaccination Coverage Evaluation Survey (VCES) in 2020, I collaborated with key organizations like WHO, UNICEF, and Gavi. Following this, I served as a Project Coordinator at the Myanmar Health Assistant Association (MHAA) and later as a Focal Health Officer for the Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS) in Rakhine State. In 2023, I joined UNICEF Myanmar as a Social and Behavior Change (SBC) Associate as a UN Volunteer, covering Eastern and Southern Shan, and Kayah State. In these roles, I actively supported internally displaced persons (IDPs) and populations affected by the ongoing civil conflict. Currently, I am pursuing a Media and Communication program at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, enhancing my knowledge and contributing to positive social change.
Phyu Sin Thwe

Ms.Phyu Sin Thwe, completed an Educational Leadership, Pedagogy and Technology online diploma course at University of Taxila(Yangon, Myanmar) and has been working as a self-employed English teacher at “Practise English with Confidence” since 2021.
In 2019, she graduated high school with four distinctions out of six and enrolled as an English major at Mandalay University of Foreign Languages. Despite interruptions due to COVID-19 and the political situation, she had to end her first semester of university and continued her English studies by participating in the university’s online English club “NEXUS” and later joined the “SKY” learning community, where she volunteered and led English conversation activities. In 2024, she served as an assistant trainer in a volunteer position at Hope Institute Burma, an organization that provides free education for displaced Myanmar children and youth, as well as professional development training for teachers in Myanmar
Charm Myae Aung
Charm Myae Aung, also known as Ric, is a passionate advocate for environmental conservation, with a focus on waste management and biodiversity preservation. With over three years of hands-on experience,he has led as the project manager and trained the youths in impactful projects like Grow Future as , Junior Heroes, and Eco-venturers. As the founder of EYE (Enviro Youth Empowerment), he is dedicated to fostering environmental stewardship and sustainability among youth across the ASEAN region.His deep commitment to these issues is traveling which inspires his global perspective on environmental challenges and issues.
Sit Thway Aung
Sit Thway Aung, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Yangon University, Myanmar, and is pursuing a Master of Environmental Science at Chiang Mai University, Thailand. He is currently selected as a YSEALI Academic Fellow for the “Sustainability and Environment” theme, Spring 2025.
He has actively contributed to environmental advocacy, volunteering at “Green Festival 2023” to promote awareness of urban ecosystems and aquatic life, and with “Prevent Plastics” to educate communities on reducing plastic waste. He also participated in the "Young City Shaper" program, working on climate change and carbon footprint projects.
Professionally, he worked as a junior environmentalist at Hexagonal International Consultants Co., Ltd., preparing environmental monitoring reports, and as a research assistant for the study “Geospatial Analysis of Land Use Land Cover Changes in Myanmar (2017–2022).”
He believes that "sustainability begins with awareness, and collective efforts can create a lasting impact on the planet."
SITT MIN KO KO HLAING

A youth, committed a significant achievement A visionary youth leader with strong community spirit, I have spearheaded impactful initiatives in community sustainability, youth development, and media—despite navigating the challenges of an armed-conflict rural environment. Rising above skepticism, age and gender discrimination, I proved my leadership as the Executive Director of two organizations, successfully overcoming obstacles with resilience, strategic problem-solving, and unwavering determination. Armed with exceptional survival skills, a natural instinct for project management, and an unshakable commitment to servant leadership, I have driven transformative change in my community. My passion for environmental preservation earned me the honor of representing my nation at Global Tiger Day 2022, hosted by WWF. Bold, relentless, and purpose driven, I continue to shape a future where youth leadership is a force of unstoppable impact.
Kyaw Wana Lin

Mr. Kyaw Wana Lin is a scholar at Griffith University through the ASEAN-Australia Emerging Leaders Program, collaborating on clean energy initiatives to reduce fossil fuel dependency and expand access to affordable energy in Southeast Asia. He was awarded first place in the ASEAN Youth Speech Contest 2023 at the Sustainability Expo and founded the Waste Minimization and River Conservation Campaign, which empowers communities in Myanmar to reduce plastic waste and protect fragile ecosystems. Through his Climate Action Workshops, Kyaw has educated over 150 students on sustainable urban planning, addressing the environmental impacts of sand mining and illegal logging. As Myanmar’s representative at the YSEALI Regional Workshop “AI FutureMakers: Innovating for a Better Future,” Kyaw explores leveraging artificial intelligence to mitigate global warming and drive inclusive economic growth. He believes, “Progress is measured not by what we take from the earth, but by what we give back to it.”
Aung Kyaw Myint

Mr. Aung Kyaw Myint, a chemical engineering student at King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang. His academic pursuits focus on applying technical knowledge to real-world challenges, particularly in green technology and renewable energy. Beyond academics, Sebastian actively engage in volunteer work, contributing to youth engagement programs and SDGs fulfillment programs in youth organizations to create a positive impact. Currently a member of iGen KMITL, he has served as Project Head of the ASEAN Youth Advocate Network Myanmar, Team Leader of Logistics and Delegate Services in AIESEC in Southwest Yangon, and Local Secretary General of JCI Yangon. Sebastian also actively involved in various youth-led organizations especially on SDG fulfillment programs. Recently, he participated in an exchange program in Beijing focused on energy science and took part in the ATU-NET International DataHack for Sustainability 2023 held at KMITL. With a blend of academic curiosity, hands-on experience, and a commitment to giving back, I strive to grow as a well-rounded individual ready to contribute for our greener and sustainable future.
Khun Kham Rhur

With over six years of experience in the education sector, Khun is passionate about teaching, mentoring, and curriculum development. He has served as an Academic Officer in AIU Student Council and is currently the President of AIU Myanmar Club. He has also worked extensively on educational initiatives, including free scholarship preparation programs and online English classes.
Beyond education, Khun promotes sustainability by actively addressing Myanmar's environmental issues through community development and sustainable practices. Khun believes that "education is the foundation for empowerment, and sustainability is the key to a better future."
Khin Thitsar

Khin Thitsar(Jennifer) , graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Architectural Engineering from the University of Bedfordshire(UK) with First-Class Honours. She is currently working as a Junior Architectural Designer, where she integrates sustainable design principles into her projects.
As a passionate advocate for environmental sustainability, Jenni has volunteered as an infographic designer at EcoCupid, a platform that promotes environmental awareness, and as an English Speaking Club facilitator for For the Future Myanmar, where she focused on youth empowerment and education. Her work reflects her belief that architecture can serve as a tool to inspire environmental stewardship and foster community resilience.
Jenni is dedicated to creating innovative, eco-friendly designs that contribute to a sustainable future while empowering communities to protect and preserve the planet.
Thoon Wadi

Her dedication to youth empowerment and community building has shaped her path as an HR Director in a virtual non-profit youth organization, where she oversees two teams: HR and People & Culture. In addition to her commitment to social causes, Thoon is highly enthusiastic about computer science as her professional field. She strongly values the importance of sustainability—not only in the environment but also across society, technology, and beyond. She says, "Sustainability is a collective effort that extends beyond the environment, touching every facet of our lives."
As a finalist in the YSEALI Academic Fellowship under the Sustainability and Environment theme for the Spring 2025 Cohort, she continues to advocate for positive change through leadership, innovation, and collaboration.
Her motto is, "Small steps in service can lead to big impacts in society."
Nang Kham Nwet
Ms. Nang Kham Nwet is a third-year Business Administration student at Walailak University, Thailand, where she is an Academic Excellence Scholar. She was recently selected as a finalist of Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Academic Fellowship under the theme of Sustainability and Environment. She is also an ambassador of OR Seeding the Future ASEAN CAMP, 2024. She has demonstrated leadership as the Team Leader of External Relations at AIESEC in Myanmar and served as Organizing Committee President for the Pink Monk Project. Nang has excelled in various national and regional competitions, including securing First Runner-Up in the OR Seeding the Future ASEAN Camp 2024 Business Pitching Competition and Macro Business Simulations, Southern Regional Winner in the Startup Thailand League 2023. Her passion for sustainability and innovation drives her commitment to integrating environmentally conscious practices into business operations. She believes that “sustainability is not a choice but a responsibility that demands innovative action from us all".
Kyaw Zin Phyo Hein
Kyaw Soe Hein
Mr. Kyaw Soe Hein is a professional chess player, English tutor, and Information Technology student. In 2024, he became the Champion in the U20 category at the Myanmar National Chess Tournament and holds an official chess rating. Currently, he is globally ranked 41,517 and locally ranked 71. As a dedicated competitor, he has participated in numerous local chess tournaments and leads young players at Shwe Bagan Chess Club, mentoring the next generation of talents. Beyond chess, he is passionate about education, teaching English and actively volunteering in English-related programs to support language learning in the community. Balancing competitive chess, tutoring, and academic pursuits, he is committed to empowering youth through education, strategic thinking, and language development.
Moe Moe Thwe
Moe Moe Thwe graduated with a Bachelor of Education from International Leadership University, where she was awarded an 80% scholarship for academic excellence. She is the founder and educator at Bounce Education Centre, where she is leading impactful educational initiatives such as the Unlock Your Potential Challenge, which included online events with over 900 participants.
She has taken part in four internships and has over three years of professional working experience. She has taken on roles as a teacher, marketing coordinator, and project leader, working collaboratively with organizations to inspire youth and create meaningful opportunities. Moe will soon pursue an MBA to further enhance her leadership and entrepreneurial skills.
She believes that “education should be to unlock individual potential and build a better future for all."
Paing Zin Phyo
Paing Zin Phyo has a background in political science from the University of Yangon. Over the last 6 years, he has been actively involved in grassroots civic activities, volunteering as a civic instructor across various cities in Myanmar. Currently, Paing works as a Program Associate for a digital civic engagement platform, focusing on promoting civic space amid the country’s upheavals.
In addition to his current civic work, Paing has also gained significant experience working with think tanks and research organizations. He is determined to reconstruct the systems that hinder public well-being and is committed to making even small changes as an individual to help rebuild these structures.
Aye Nyein San

Aye Nyein San is studying for a Bachelor of Business, majoring in Applied Finance, at Western Sydney University in Vietnam, with a passion for technology and innovation. She is fully committed to contributing back to society and also volunteers her time for community service and mentoring fellow students in financial management and study skills. San has also volunteered as a teacher at Salween Academy, Runfree Education Foundation, and Advocates for Sustainable Lifestyle and Culture, teaching mathematics, English, and conducting speaking clubs. She also contributed to some programs of Wedu Global and AIESEC Myanmar that empowered women and their leadership. With a strong innovation and sustainability focus, San is into creating solutions for community and individual needs. San believes that education and technology can be used to bring about change; she is ever toward the empowerment of others, having the desire to leave a lasting impact.
Yin Myo Wai

Yin Myo Wai is currently pursuing a Business Management program at Strategy First International College, Myanmar. She is a business analyst at Yever, with extensive experience in data analysis and stakeholder engagement, focusing on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) projects in Myanmar. She has supported SMEs by developing financial management tools, governance frameworks, and operational strategies to drive organizational growth. As an active working member of the Myanmar Sustainable Business Network, she has been actively participating in promoting sustainable and responsible business practices.
Yin Myo contributed to the education sector through a local social enterprise and led regional educational initiatives supported by YSEALI Seeds Grant for the Future 2021 and KAS Cambodia. She also served as a research intern at Inya Economics, where she worked on socio-economic programs.
Passionate about driving sustainable growth, she excels in empowering businesses and communities through innovative solutions and impactful projects.
Phuu Chit Yadanar

Ms. Phuu Chit Yadanar is a Third-year Undergraduate student (Honours), majoring in International Relations from University of Yangon (YU), Myanmar. She was awarded as the Hysan Youth Ambassador and is a scholarship student at Strategy First University, pursuing a Professional Diploma in Business Management and Entrepreneurship. Passionate about Youth Empowerment, she has initiated youth-led community projects and founded a Youth Organization. She currently serves as a Community Coordinator and Program Supervisor at Hysan Education. She has also volunteered as the Vice President of the Free English “Speaking Buddy” Program. Actively engaged in start-up project competitions and Youth Entrepreneurship Program at the American Center Yangon, she advocates for innovation and education in driving youth empowerment. She firmly believes that “Elevating education is an expanding access to global resources, a critical stepping stone for contemporary youths."
May Myat Ko

Ms. May Myat Ko, also known as Hazel, is a foundation year student at the University of Medicine (1) Interim University Council. Amidst the political unrest, she has been striving to find a way to continue her education. Fortunately, she got a chance to participate in a virtual exchange program called SEISUM, hosted by Spring University Myanmar, where she collaborated with students from various backgrounds, including conflict-affected areas, as well as students from the University of Arizona. Her group project focused on providing educational support to students in Karenni, a region heavily impacted by civil war and resource scarcity. During this challenging period, her passion for contributing to marginalized youth communities in conflict-affected areas has been ignited. She is now serving as a co-founder and project coordinator at Hope Builders Youth Initiative, a NGO which intends to provide educational opportunities for the youths in Myanmar’s vulnerable and conflict-affected areas. She has been actively involved in community projects for young people, focusing on addressing educational inequality and advocating for minority rights to education. She firmly believes that a shared commitment to addressing community issues can inspire collective and impactful action.
Naychi
Naychi is a tenacious youth advocate and GESI enthusiast, actively working to uplift underrepresented communities in Myanmar. Coming from a Muslim minority background, she has devoted her career to the humanitarian and social justice sectors, focusing on advancing social harmony and addressing gender-related challenges. With a strong background in the non-profit,and academic sectors, Naychi is committed to advocating impactful community development initiatives that promote social justice and gender equity. Her efforts also extend to delivering capacity-building programs aimed at fostering sustainable change within her community. Currently, she has been enrolled to pursue a Master’s Degree in Development Studies at the University of Melbourne through the Australia Awards Schorlarship
Aung Myo Tun
Mr. Aung Myo Tun, a dedicated young advocate with extensive experience in humanitarian project coordination, youth and community development, and administrative support. Aung holds a Diploma in Arts and Social Science from Theik Khar Myanmar Institute and a Bachelor of Arts in Myanmar Literature from Sittwe University. He worked as a social worker at various International Non-governmental Organizations (INGO) and Community-based Organizations (CSO), where he oversaw humanitarian project management, context analysis and advocacy work for vulnerable communities. He also contributes as a civic education trainer and volunteer with youth organizations. As a finalist of YSEALI Academic Fellows Program, he is passionate about promoting good governance, community development, social justice and effective dispute resolution across Asian regions including Myanmar.
Mar Mar Win

Ms. Mar Mar Win, a recent graduate with a Bachelor of International Relations and Development with First Class Honors from Rangsit University in Thailand, was awarded a fully funded scholarship from the Child’s Dream Foundation for the 4-year BA Studies. In her final year, Mar Mar worked as a programme development intern at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime Regional Office on Southeast Asia and the Pacific (UNODC ROSEAP). She supported regional program development initiatives that combat illicit drugs and transnational organized crimes. Building on this experience, Mar Mar conducted independent research titled "Illicit Drug Issues in Myanmar after the 2021 Coup: Perspectives on Factors and the Role of UNODC" by examining the impact of Myanmar's illicit drug trade on Southeast Asia and the Pacific regional stability. Recently, Mar Mar volunteered with the ASEAN Empowering Youth Programme on a community project, collaborating with nine other ASEAN youth volunteers.
